Terms of Use
Last updated October 7, 2026
Please read these terms carefully. They explain your rights and responsibilities when you use Build Control Sync, and they limit our liability.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Build Control Sync (“we”, “us”) and govern your use of our website and the Build Control Sync service (the “Service”). By creating an account, or by using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
If you use the Service for a company or other organization, you agree to these Terms on its behalf and confirm that you have the authority to do so. In that case, “you” means that organization as well. If a separate written agreement with us covers your use of the Service, that agreement controls where it conflicts with these Terms.
2. Who may use the Service
The Service is for businesses. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use it, and you may not use it if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.
3. Accounts and workspaces
- Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password and sign-in links private, and don’t share your account. You are responsible for what happens under it. Tell us right away at privacy@buildcontrolsync.com if you think someone else has used it.
- A workspace’s owners and admins decide who belongs to it and what each person can do, and they are responsible for the people they invite.
4. Using the Service
The Service connects your CRM or field system to your accounting system, stages the changes between them and posts them once someone with the right role approves. It also offers tools such as budget guardrails, intake of documents, reports and audit trails.
- You stay in control of what posts. Review the changes you approve. Approving a change tells us to send it to the connected system, and you are responsible for the changes you or your team approve.
- We don’t give professional advice. The Service is a tool. It is not accounting, tax, legal or financial advice, and it doesn’t replace your own review of your books.
- Practice mode. A workspace in practice mode uses sample data and doesn’t post to your live systems. Nothing reaches them until you go live.
- Changes to the Service. We improve the Service over time and may add, change or remove features. If we remove a significant feature you pay for, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
5. Your data
You own your data. “Your data” means the records, documents and other content you or the systems you connect bring into the Service.
- You give us permission to host, copy, process, transmit and display your data only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service for you, and as described in our Privacy Policy.
- You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to bring your data into the Service and to connect the systems you connect, including any notices or consents required from the people your data is about.
- You can export your workspace’s data at any time while your account is active.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in a way that breaks the law or violates anyone’s rights;
- upload malicious code, or content you don’t have the right to use;
- try to get into another workspace, another account or our systems without permission, or to test their security without our written consent;
- disrupt or overload the Service, or get around its limits, approvals or security controls;
- copy, resell or rent out the Service, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows that despite this restriction;
- use the Service to build a competing product.
7. Connected systems and other services
The Service works with systems that other companies provide — your CRM, your accounting system, Plaid for bank connections, Stripe for payments and an AI provider for some intake features. Your use of those systems is governed by your agreements with their providers. We aren’t responsible for them, for changes they make, or for their being unavailable, and a connected system may limit what the Service can do with it.
8. AI features
Some features use AI to read documents and commands and suggest drafts. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Review it before you rely on it — nothing an AI feature drafts is posted to your accounting system until a person approves it.
9. Plans, fees and billing
- Paid plans are billed in advance for the term you choose (for example, monthly or annually) through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown when you subscribe, and fees don’t include taxes, which you are responsible for.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each term until you cancel. If your plan includes a free trial, it becomes a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
- You can cancel from your workspace’s billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term, and you keep access until then.
- Except where the law requires otherwise, fees already paid are not refundable.
- If a payment fails, we may limit paid features until it is resolved. We may change prices for future terms, and we will tell you before a change applies to you.
10. Cancelling, deleting and suspension
- Deleting a workspace. A workspace owner can delete the workspace from Settings. Deleting it cancels its subscription right away and closes it: nobody can sign in to it, and nothing syncs or posts from it. Its data is kept for 90 days, during which you can ask us to restore it, and is then erased permanently. Export anything you need before deleting.
- Suspension. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms, if your use puts the Service, other customers or anyone else at risk, if payment is overdue, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
- Sections that by their nature should continue after these Terms end — including Your data, Intellectual property, Disclaimers, Limitation of liability, Indemnity and Governing law — continue.
11. Intellectual property and feedback
We and our licensors own the Service, including its software, design and content, apart from your data. Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your internal business purposes while your account is active.
If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve the Service without any obligation to you.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that data synced or posted through it will be accurate or complete.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, even if advised that they were possible.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the fees you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limits don’t apply to your payment obligations or to liability that can’t be limited under applicable law.
14. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Build Control Sync against claims by third parties, and the resulting losses and costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees), arising from your data, your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or of someone else’s rights.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and both parties consent to those courts’ jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, please contact us at privacy@buildcontrolsync.com so we can try to resolve it informally.
16. General
- Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms. We will change the “last updated” date, and if a change is significant we will tell workspace owners by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it.
- Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent, except as part of a merger or sale of your business. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and any order or written agreement between us are the whole agreement about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a provision isn’t a waiver of it.
- Events beyond our control. We aren’t responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages of internet or hosting providers or of connected systems.
